What is Indexing?
Indexing is the step where Google, having found a web page, reads it and adds it to the index it answers searches from. A page that is not indexed cannot rank for anything, however good it is. Crawling is the finding; indexing is the filing.
What it means for a small service business
New websites, pages hidden behind menus, pages blocked by a stray setting, and pages Google judges too thin all end up unindexed. Owners often have pages they think are live that Google has never filed. Search Console shows exactly which pages are in and which are not, and why.
Does your business need to do anything about Indexing?
