Measuring it
Search Console
Google telling you how it sees your website.
What is Search Console?
Search Console is Google’s free tool that shows a website owner what Google sees: which searches show the website, how often, in what position, which pages are indexed and which have problems. It measures the searchers who never clicked, which Analytics cannot.
What it means for a small service business
It is the honest before-and-after for any rebuild, because it counts everyone who saw you in Google, consent or not. Most small businesses have never opened it. Ownership should sit in your own Google account, not an agency’s.
Does your business need to do anything about Search Console?
Yes. Free, ten minutes to set up, and the first place to look when the phone goes quiet.
