Noindex
Telling Google to leave a page out.
What is Noindex?
Noindex is an instruction placed in a page that tells search engines not to include it in their results. It is right for private pages, thank-you pages and unfinished work, and catastrophic when left on a live website by mistake.
What it means for a small service business
Sydex pitch builds carry noindex on every page so an unsold rebuild is never in Google. Removing it is the first item at go-live, and the most dangerous one to forget, which is why a machine checks it.
Does your business need to do anything about Noindex?
Know that it exists. If a page of yours is missing from Google, this is one of the first things to check.
