Where does the link come from?
It is Google's own direct link to the review box for your listing, built from the listing's identifier. It is the same link Google gives you inside your Business Profile, without having to log in and find it.
What if my business is not found?
Then it has no Google Business Profile, or the name on the listing is different from what you typed. Try the name as it appears on Google Maps. If there is genuinely no listing, creating one is free at google.com/business and it is the single most valuable thing a local business can do online.
Is it allowed to ask for reviews?
Yes. Google's rules allow asking customers for reviews as long as you ask everyone, not just the happy ones, and never offer anything in return. Do not review your own business, ask staff to, or buy reviews: since 2025 fake reviews are illegal in the UK, and Google removes them.
What should I do with the card?
Print it and put it where a customer sees it at the end of a job: the van dashboard, the counter, the back of an invoice. The best moment to ask is when they have just said thank you.
Does Sydex keep any of this?
