What is Zero-click search?
A zero-click search is one where the person gets what they needed on the results page itself, from an AI Overview, a map pack, a featured snippet or a knowledge panel, and never clicks through to a website. More than half of searches now end this way.
What it means for a small service business
For a local business it cuts two ways. Fewer people visit the website, but the map pack and the AI answer are themselves the shop window. The aim moves from "get the click" to "be the answer that gets the call".
