What is Map pack?
The map pack is the block of three local businesses, with a map, star ratings and a call button, that Google shows near the top of results for searches with local intent such as "electrician near me". It is drawn from Google Business Profiles, not from websites, and it wins more phone calls than the ordinary results below it.
What it means for a small service business
For a trade, being in the map pack matters more than ranking first in the normal list. It is decided by how complete and active your Google Business Profile is, how many recent reviews it has, how close you are, and whether your website backs up what the profile says.
