What is Keywords?
Keywords are the words and phrases people type into a search engine, and by extension the phrases a website is built to be found for. Modern search understands meaning rather than exact matches, so the useful work is knowing which questions your buyers ask, not repeating a phrase.
What it means for a small service business
The old trick of stuffing "plumber Preston" into every sentence now hurts. What works is knowing that people search "boiler service cost", "emergency plumber near me" and "landlord gas certificate", and having a plain page that answers each.
