The website itself

Responsive

A website that fits any screen.

UPDATED 3 SEPTEMBER 2026

What is Responsive?

A responsive website rearranges itself to fit the screen it is viewed on, from a phone to a large monitor, from one set of pages. Google indexes the phone version of a website first, so a website that only works on a desktop is judged by how it fails on a phone.

What it means for a small service business

Most of your visitors are on a phone. A website built before about 2015 usually shrinks to an unreadable postage stamp or breaks. It is the most visible sign of age and the one buyers notice first.

Does your business need to do anything about Responsive?

Yes, non-negotiable. Look at your website on your own phone; if you have to pinch and zoom, it fails.
