Will my insurance cover the storm damage?
Usually yes, if a specific storm caused it rather than wear and tear. Insurers want dated photos and a roofer's written cause-of-damage report. We make it safe first, then hand you both the same week.
How much is a roof repair?
Slipped tiles £150 to £400, chimney flashing £400 to £800. Send a photo and we'll usually price it without a visit.
Do I really need scaffolding?
For anything beyond ground-reach work on a two-storey house, yes, legally and practically. It adds £500 to £1,200 and we itemise it on every quote so you can see it, never bury it.

About us
Frank, Joe, and a yard full of slate.
Frank Ashworth started on roofs in 1995 and still climbs the scaffold. His son Joe runs the storm work and the flat roofing. A small crew on purpose: the person who surveys your roof is the person stood on it doing the job.

Working-at-height trained, CSCS carded, scaffold-inspection records kept for every job. Ask to see any of it.
Insured, properly
£5m public liability. Documents available on request without a fuss, because you should be asking every roofer for them.

The yard's in Bamber Bridge and the vans are sign-written. If a job's too far or not our thing, we'll say so and point you at someone good.

Will my home insurance cover roof damage?
If a specific storm, fallen branch or impact caused it, usually yes. Wear and tear, moss and gradual deterioration are not covered, which is exactly what the annual healthcheck protects you from. For claims, insurers want dated photos and a written cause-of-damage report from a roofer: we provide both the same week we make it safe.
How much does a roof repair cost?
Slipped or cracked tiles £150 to £400. Chimney flashing relaid in lead £400 to £800. Flat roof patches £200 to £800. Send photos and we can usually give you a fixed price without a visit.
How much is a full reroof?
£5,500 to £12,000 for a typical semi, depending on size, tile choice and access. That includes new felt and battens; the tiles are usually the cheap part. Fixed written price after survey, 20-year workmanship guarantee.
Why is scaffolding priced separately?
Because it's £500 to £1,200 of the job and you deserve to see it, not have it buried in a round number. It also means if you're having other work done, one scaffold can serve both jobs.
Can you just clear the moss off?
Yes, by hand and scraper with the gutters done at the same time, £95. We don't pressure-wash roofs: it strips the surface off the tiles and voids some guarantees.
How long will my roof last?
Concrete tiles 40 to 60 years, clay longer, slate longer still. The felt and battens underneath usually give up first, which shows as damp in the loft before anything shows outside. That's what the healthcheck looks for.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. Quotes and surveys are free, in writing, and hold for 60 days.
